Welcome to my new blog, where we delve into the captivating world of vampires and monsters in literature, folklore, and cinema. As the tagline suggests, Fangs and Fables is your gateway to exploring the rich tapestry of mythical creatures that have captured our imaginations for centuries.
Why vampires, you may ask? It’s a question I’ve pondered myself, considering my own aversion to blood and horror. Yet, like many of you, I’ve always been drawn to these enigmatic beings. Perhaps it’s the allure of the unknown or the thrill of exploring what we fear most. In my case, delving into the realm of vampires became not just a fascination, but an academic pursuit.

I hold both a first degree and a master’s degree in English literature and creative writing. My master’s thesis delved deep into the realm of vampires in literature and folklore, exploring what these creatures reveal about the societies that created them. From ancient legends to modern interpretations, vampires serve as mirrors to our deepest desires and darkest fears.
During my research, I uncovered a vast array of fascinating creatures, including lesser-known figures like the Kosovar vampire watermelon (yes, you read that right!), which will be the focus of my first vampire study coming soon.

As scholar Nina Auerbach astutely observed, there’s a little bit of vampire in all of us. Join me on this journey as we explore the parallels between these mythical beings and the societies that birthed them. Whether you’re a fellow scholar, a vampire enthusiast, or simply curious, there’s something here for everyone.
So buckle up, hold onto your garlic, and let’s embark on an adventure that’s equal parts spine-tingling and spellbinding!
